Set at a Junior Band level, PARP ! follows a flexi scoring formula of mixed brass players; requiring a minimum of 4 brass players - but the maximum number is endless.
The pieces are predominantly groove based and seek to take participants through a wide range of styles and musical identities.
In the instance of using just four brass players, playing just the top part in each case will provide a cohesive performance.

I am a great fan of this style of music; it is a great way to teach and learn rhythmic skills; rhythm being at the very heart of this style of music.
Sometimes the essential rhythms of the piece are shared in common with all the brass voices, sometimes they are unique to an individual voice. J.M.
