A spot of people watching... Imagine observing (from a distance) a pair of people deep in conversation. Although their words cannot be heard with any clarity, the tone of their voices alongside their body language gives the observer some clues as to what may be occurring.
Movement 1
The conversationalists at first seem rather uncertain & hesitant, as if they are trying to find common ground. This leads to a more positive and assertive mood but, despite this the earlier concerns leave their mark.
Movement 2
Things are discussed in a more assertive, confident and dictatorial manner with the protagonists clearly agreeing on several points. Nonetheless, there are consequences and this leads to a period of reflection and melancholy.
Movement 3
Things begin as excited and animated chit-chat clearly enjoying common agreement and optimism. This leads to a climax of celebration and no little amount of self-satisfaction. All the same, they seem to remember only too well where it all began....
