I am particularly fond of the odd olive or two – or indeed the whole tub. Having watched a TV programme all about the culinary benefits of olives I was inspired to create a musical whistle-stop tour of the Mediterranean Basin – the ‘old world’ region where olive trees grow.

Description

I am particularly fond of the odd olive or two – or indeed the whole tub. Having watched a TV programme all about the culinary benefits of olives I was inspired to create a musical whistle-stop tour of the Mediterranean Basin – the ‘oldworld’ region where olive trees grow. On this trip various countries enjoy a brief visit. Musically speaking the piece provides tongue-in-cheek hints of Spain, The Balkans, Turkey and Lebanon to name but a few; finishing with the inevitable nod in the direction of Zorba and his native Greece. I hope you enjoy this musical platter of olives and other regional delights.
