This is another sunshine-inspired piece. At its core are the characters of Calypso music; an Afro-Caribbean music originating in Trinidad and Tobago and popular throughout the Caribbean. Originally an acoustic form of singing with accompaniment, today’s electronic dance culture sees Calypso manifesting itself as Soca.

Description

PARP ! - a collection of thirty original compositions.

Set at a Junior Band level, PARP ! follows a flexi scoring formula of mixed brass players; requiring a minimum of 4 brass players - but the maximum number is endless.

The pieces are predominantly groove based and seek to take participants through a wide range of styles and musical identities.

In the instance of using just four brass players, playing just the top part in each case will provide a cohesive performance.
